Last week 's catch up

Hey there!

Last week I didn't post my weight. I stayed the same based on the scale at my ww meeting. The scale at my house is different from the one at the meeting, so I have decided to use that one to track my weight loss. This week, I made much better food choices for the first four days...then we had a whole lot of parties going on...and I did not fair as well...I weigh in tonight, and will see how I do.

I want to lose the weight so badly, I just can't afford to do cook for a party for 40-50 people and keep it healthy. It's impossible on our  budget. This makes it hard to eat healthy after I have been up late and am exhausted. Anyone have ideas on how to fight the stress/tired eating during a party preparation?

The holidays are fast approaching, and I am looking for healthy alternatives to the traditional sides for meals.... if you don't want to post the recipe on here, please feel free to email me at crabb.family@yahoo.com.

I was told you can have excuses, or you can have success....but you can't have both. It's time for me to really step up.

Take care,

~Nyky

  1. This isn't a side, but it's been a lifesaver for me in my weightloss... take one box of cake mix-- any kind will do. I like to use the reduced sugar kinds. Mix it with 1 can of pumpkin. (The small can-- 15 oz.) Bake it in muffin cups as directed or you can bake as cookies just until set (about 8- 10 mins.) for a low cal treat. Don't be afraid to mix in spices for different flavors-- try pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon or even some extracts. Find your favorite flavor combos. You can freeze these treets to have as snacks later. (Read: cause on a bad day, it's easy to overdose on this good thing.) I usually also mix in some benefiber with the mix before baking. You can make your own "healthified" whoopie pie by putting some free cool whip between two cookies or between a cupcake cut in half. I like to eat mine frozen.

  2. What a great idea! I have had the pumpkin muffins from the hungry girl website...never thought to make cookies, or yet whoopie pies from it. That is just the kind of texture I need when stressed. Thank you!
